The stipend amount for graduate assistantship positions for fiscal year 2027 will be $12,000 for the fall and spring semester combined. Assistantship positions for one semester (FA or SP) will have a stipend amount of $6000.

Position Title: Athletic Operations Graduate Assistant Term: 2026-2027 Academic Year Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Reports To: Associate Athletic Director of Operations and Event Management
Position Overview: Work closely with the Athletic Facilities, Operations, and Event Management staff to ensure seamless execution of athletic events. This position provides hands-on experience in collegiate athletic administration.
Key Responsibilities: Event Management: Prepare, coordinate, direct, and supervise all aspects of home athletic games and events. Facility Preparation: Ensure all facility and game equipment are operational and appropriately set for game day (e.g., fields, goals, locker rooms, tables, chairs, bleachers, housekeeping). Facility Maintenance: Assist with general field and facility maintenance, including operating small machinery to prepare fields and facilities. Guest Relations: Greet visiting teams and officials upon arrival and escort them to designated locker rooms. Staffing: Assist with the training, and scheduling of operations student workers and event staff. Event Operations: Assist with facility rentals on the day of the event and aid in the planning and execution of special departmental events. Replay Management: Assist with/manage game replay systems for Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. Communication: Maintain clear, effective communication with coaches, student-athletes, and departmental staff. Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director.
Bachelor’s Degree (4-year)
Enrolled in graduate program at Emporia State University
Completed 1 semester working/volunteering in a collegiate athletic department assisting with game operations and/or field and facility preparation and maintenance.
Expected work hours included evenings and weekends and some travel.
Must follow Emporia State University Graduated Student Guidelines.
