Position Summary Responsible for leading design development from concept through construction Administration. This role combines strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and mentorship, ensuring projects meet aesthetic, functional, and regulatory standards while aligning with client goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead architectural design from concept, schematic design, and design development through construction documentation
Produce and oversee high-quality drawings, renderings, and presentations
Translate client goals into innovative, buildable design solutions
Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, civil, landscape, lighting, etc.)
Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards
Conduct Construction Administration (CA) tasks, including submittal review, RFI processing, and site visits
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design reviews
Mentor and guide junior designers
Support project managers with schedules, deliverables, and design quality
Contribute to firm design standards, best practices, and workflow improvements
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or master’s degree in architecture or related field
7+ years of professional architectural design experience
Actively pursuing licensure or currently Registered Architect
Demonstrated ability navigating zoning laws, obtaining necessary permits from city governments, and implementing building codes.
Strong design portfolio demonstrating concept-to-completion work
Proficiency in Revit (required), Rhino, Lumion, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite
Deep understanding of construction detailing, materials, and building systems
Ability to lead design efforts independently and collaboratively
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience working directly with clients and consultants
