Federated Hermes is seeking a Corporate Communications Specialist at our Pittsburgh headquarters to manage senior-level projects on the Corporate Communications team. Responsibilities include planning and completion of individual team and/or Federated Hermes projects including media relations, complex social media postings and projects; video communication efforts; corporate communications and internal communications. Based on the qualifications of the identified candidate, title will either be Corporate Communications Specialist or Sr. Corporate Communications Specialist.
What You’ll Do
- Play a lead role in the strategic development of complex, multi-faceted corporate communications plans, proposals and programs to assist with the sales efforts and communicate company or product messages to internal/external audiences through media relations, social media and/or video.
- Execute corporate communications projects (press releases, social media planning, annual report, corporate overview and quarterly earnings-related materials, videos, etc.) from development through completion.
- Provide media relations work including pitching assigned topics to reporters, setting up print and broadcast interviews, pitch stories, develop relationships with local, trade and national reporters, and incorporate comments from internal stakeholders on press releases related to Federated Hermes.
- Oversee and conduct press tours and media events.
- Route, review, and incorporate changes from all parties including Compliance before proofreading all projects (both print and digital).
- Manage broader internal communication efforts by writing or editing copy.
- Write speeches, all-staff emails, memos, letters and other internal communications as assigned.
- Provide input during story idea, white paper idea or other brainstorming meetings.
The Expertise We are Looking For
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism required.
- 1+ year of experience in public relations and/or corporate communications required.
- Understanding of financial terms and investment products required.
- Mutual fund experience and/or knowledge preferred.
