PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Staffing

Application Process
Research Medical Center will manage the application process for its pharmacy residency programs through ASHP’s PhORCAS (Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application) process. Candidates must submit the following materials through PhORCAS by January 3rd:

All completed applications will be reviewed and the most qualified applicants will be invited for on-site interviews in late January and February.
Research Medical Center is a tertiary-care community teaching hospital and member of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s largest network and recognized leader in healthcare. RMC offers a wide variety of medical services, including a Level I trauma center, Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, orthopedics, neurosurgery, level III NICU, kidney/pancreas transplant, obstetrics and fertility, and comprehensive oncology services, including a bone marrow transplant program. Our campuses include the 590 bed main campus on Meyer Boulevard, the Research Medical Center Brookside campus, and Research Psychiatric Center. The pharmacy department provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Our clinical pharmacists participate in multidisciplinary rounds, pharmacokinetic drug monitoring, drug therapy management, physician education, and precept students from three local pharmacy schools.
