Randolph-Macon Academy is seeking a Director of Summer Programs and Auxiliary Services. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for the administration, management, and supervision of all summer and auxiliary programs (including camps, extended-day offerings, and facility rentals), as well as budgeting, scheduling, billing, staffing, training, compliance, and program evaluation. The director will lead the development and growth of a robust portfolio of school-run summer camps, expanding offerings that serve both the R-MA community and the broader region. The director also supports the school’s general operations by overseeing space utilization and transportation reservations during the academic year.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Build, manage and oversee the development and planning process for R-MA’s summer camp and auxiliary programs to advance the Academy’s mission, enhance admissions outreach, and generate revenue.
Promote and drive growth of the school’s facilities rental program by cultivating partnerships, managing external inquiries, coordinating bookings for events and programs, and serving as the primary point of contact to ensure excellent client communication and customer service.
Coordinate offerings and programs with Senior Staff
Ensures that the programs align with the Academy’s educational priorities.
Oversees the management of all summer and auxiliary programs, communicating effectively and providing the highest level of customer service to all participants and their families.
Ensures that all programs are in compliance with applicable regulations of camp licensing and operates in accordance with the Academy's policies and procedures.
Ensures the safety and social/emotional well-being of all summer and auxiliary program participants.
Markets the summer programs and advertises facilities.
Schedules, coordinates, and appropriately communicates summer and auxiliary program use of facilities, services, and security needs.
Cultivates and stewards essential partnerships with vendors that participate in summer and auxiliary programs; ensures partners comply with policies through contractual agreements.
Hires, supervises, and supports summer staff; establishes appropriate compensation for all summer employees.
Maintains an understanding of the licensing and background screening processes for independent schools/camps and ensures that all required forms and background checks are completed and on file.
Provides orientation and training for staff as needed.
Prepares a comprehensive annual budget for all auxiliary programs.
Monitors revenues and expenses to foster bottom line performance across all auxiliary programs; prepares reports as needed.
With the support of the Finance Office, coordinates staff payroll and billing for all summer camps and other Auxiliary programming.
Develops the advertising strategy for summer programs; produces content for the Academy’s website, and other outlets.
Communicates, schedules and manages room reservations and transportation requests for field trips. Supports the coordination of room requests with the Facilities team. Coordinates drivers’ schedules, school owned vehicles and contracts with outside transportation companies as needed.
Supports the school year Student Bus Service
Manage and respond to inquiries for campus facilities rentals from organizations and individuals outside the school community for events, practices, and programs.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration/Operations
At least 3 years of experience in teaching or business operations.
