Position Overview: Episcopal School of Jacksonville is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, collegial, and versatile Upper Elementary Language Arts and Elementary Innovation Lab Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is structured with a primary emphasis on upper elementary Language Arts instruction (approximately 70% of the role), complemented by teaching in our Elementary Innovation Lab (approximately 30%). The most competitive candidates will have experience teaching elementary school and have a strong background in English Language Arts instruction, as well as Technology and STEAM instruction alongside a strong commitment to education and equal passion for their subject areas and their students.

Contribution to the broader school community and beyond the classroom environment, through such means as attendance at community events, and participation in off-campus and overnight trips is expected in this role.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary/Secondary Education, English, or an appropriate field of study from a four-year college or university, or post-graduate work in subject matter; an advanced degree is preferred.
At least three years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting. An independent school setting is preferred. Experienced educators with a strong desire to teach in a learner-centered independent school will also be considered.

Mastery of the content and skills central to the teaching of English Language Arts and Technology/STEAM.
Passion for the teaching of English Language Arts and technology, and an enthusiasm for working with elementary aged students in a mission-centered learning environment.
