Lakehill Preparatory School seeks a Part-Time Lower School Learning Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. This individual can expect to support Lower School students, families, and faculty with targeted interventions and administrative support. Certification as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) is preferred but not required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide one-on-one and small group targeted reading intervention informed by assessment data, incorporating multi-sensory strategies and maintaining clear, consistent communication with families regarding student progress.

• Conduct benchmark progress monitoring at least twice per year and as needed; synthesize benchmark and ongoing progress data to describe growth and guide next steps.

• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to identify students’ literacy strengths and needs, while offering coaching, modeling, and instructional support.

• Create, implement, and update Student Accommodation Profiles for students who meet Lakehill’s eligibility requirements for school-based accommodations.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, and monitor student progress.

• Schedule tutoring spaces.

• Assist with the administration of ERBs, midterms, finals, and AP Exams.

Ideal candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Master’s degree in special education, psychology, reading/literacy or a related field
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience supporting K–5 learners with diverse academic needs 
• Formal training and hands-on experience with Orton–Gillingham or a similar multisensory, structured literacy approach preferred
• Experience designing and implementing individualized interventions and differentiated instruction
• Knowledge of assessment tools, data-driven instruction, and progress monitoring
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across grade levels and disciplines
• Experience translating educational evaluations into practical, school-based intervention plans
