Job Duties:

1. Receives information from members regarding outages and trouble calls and relays by two way radio to field personnel.
2. Coordinates outage restoration efforts utilizing the Outage Management System (OMS).
3. Reviews, monitors, and operates the SCADA and AMI systems to assure that information displayed corresponds to established parameters.
4. Completes outage reports, radio logs and related paperwork.
5. Monitors location of field personnel and maintains radio contact.
6. Advises members regarding trouble calls that may be caused by malfunctions on the member’s side of the meter.
7. Handles after-hours and delinquent reconnects.
8. Makes service orders during and after hours for member problems and complaints 
9. Ensures that buildings and grounds remain secure at times other than normal working hours.
10. Assigns work to field personnel according to instructions.
11. Prepares work orders on needed maintenance reported by field personnel.
12. Enters outage information into computer system.
13. Plans, writes, checks, approves, directs, issues clearances/permissions and monitors orders for switching, grounding, and tagging instructions for the distribution system.
14. Responsible to review distribution system events and ensure proper reporting.
15. Performs other such duties as directed or assigned.

**This position operates on a DuPont shift rotation

Be flexible and timely in responding to Dispatch Supervisor as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate needs and requirements of BECi.

Willing to oversee and facilitate in a wide variety of special projects and special reports as assigned.

Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, and work procedures of BECi as assigned.

Requirements: 

• High school diploma required.
• In order to perform satisfactorily in the position, the average candidate is preferred to have one-two years training with electric distribution construction, maintenance and service.
• Must be able to develop a thorough understanding of radio communications, the maintenance of radio logs and the applicable rules and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission.
• Must be able to develop a good working knowledge of the cooperative’s system voltages.
• Must develop working knowledge of the system’s maps and service area.
• Must have excellent oral communication skills, including a clear speaking voice.
• Must demonstrate the ability to think clearly and execute properly under emergency conditions.
• Must have coordinating and organization skills.
• Must have good computer skills with the ability to utilize the Outage Management System.
