Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate music classes for preschool and kindergarten students
Integrate singing, movement, rhythm instruments, and creative play into instruction
Foster a joyful, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and exploration
Support students’ musical, social, and emotional development through multi-sensory learning
Plan, prepare, and present multiple preschool music performances for families and the school community
Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive, team-oriented school culture
Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom experiences
Develop plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small group
instruction and adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
Maintain lesson plans and schedules as part of curriculum mapping
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional and positive learning atmosphere in the classroom
Maintain professional competence through professional growth activities, including training drills, and other school procedures
Present a positive image of The Lexington School to the outside community, including social networking sites
Other duties as assigned by the Preschool Division Head or Head of School
This is a full-time position, Effective July 1, 2026.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Strong keyboard and vocal skills
Orff Schulwerk, Kodaly and/or Dalcroze training is preferred.
Experience working with students aged two through kindergarten is requisite
Experience teaching early childhood and kindergarten required
