Starting pay will be dependent on qualifications & experience and will be paid on an hourly basis. On-call, outpost, and applicable overtime pay will apply. Upon meeting eligibility requirements this position offers health care benefits, retirement benefits, paid time off and paid scheduled holidays.

Gunnison County Electric Association is currently seeking applications for an apprentice line worker position. This is a full-time position that will be reporting to the Crested Butte, Colorado, outpost location. This position will assist with the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment.
Required to enroll and complete the approved Journeyman 4-year training and certification program. Pay increases over time are based upon progress. Being on-call on a regular basis as well as working overtime hours is required.

Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA) is a small, non-profit, member-owned rural electric cooperative. Located in the beautiful Gunnison Valley in the Southwest part of Colorado. GCEA serves portions of Gunnison, Hinsdale, and Saguache Counties including the mountain towns of Crested Butte and Lake City, Colorado. This area is a dream for the outdoor enthusiast with a multitude of activities in both the Winter and Summer months including skiing, snowmobiling, hockey, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, camping, hunting, and rafting (just to name a few).
We enjoy living in a small town atmosphere with outdoor activities nearby; and do not have a 2 hour drive out of the city to reach those activities!
