Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent K-12 Quaker girls’ school in Providence, Rhode Island. Lincoln School seeks two capable, welcoming, and professional part-time receptionists to serve as the first point of contact for students, families, visitors, and employees. Representing the School in a polished, enthusiastic, and friendly manner at all times, the receptionist will greet guests, answer phones, and provide general administrative and clerical support as outlined below. Each receptionist will work a consistent part-time shift as part of a job-share model designed to ensure reliable front desk coverage.
Job Share Logistics: The front desk is staffed Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the school year. Each receptionist works approximately 25 hours per week.
Typical shifts are:
Morning Shift: 7:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Afternoon Shift: 12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
During school vacation weeks and summer months, front desk hours are typically reduced to 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and individual schedules may be adjusted accordingly.
Absence & Coverage Policy: This job-share model is designed to provide continuity and reliable coverage. When one receptionist has a planned absence or unexpected illness, the job-share partner will be asked, when available, to extend their hours and assist with coverage.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
This position requires the ability to sit or stand at the front desk for extended periods while using a computer and phone system throughout the day
The ability to occasionally lift or move light packages or office materials is necessary
Greet individuals entering the building (visitors, parents, students, vendors)
Answer, screen, and forward phone calls while providing basic information as needed
Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries
Maintain a tidy reception area
Support campus safety and security by following established procedures for logging visitors, verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, managing student sign-in/sign-out, and reporting unusual or suspicious activity
Maintain attendance records for Middle and Upper School students
Perform clerical duties as needed (faxes, mailings, data entry, etc.)
Participate in required professional development or training
Other clerical support duties as assigned

Make every effort to participate in the life of the school (engaging with the girls, chaperoning, attending plays, events, games, etc.)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
3-5 years of proven work experience as a receptionist, front office representative, or similar role
Experience working in schools is preferred
Operational knowledge of general office machines and telephone systems
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability in utilizing computer software, such as the Google Suite or the Microsoft Office Suite
Proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a diverse team of teachers and administrators
