Position Overview:
Inly School seeks a warm, patient, and collaborative Toddler House Assistant to support a Montessori Toddler classroom serving children ages 18 months–3 years. The Assistant plays an essential role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and thoughtfully prepared environment where toddlers can develop independence, language, coordination, and social-emotional skills.

In the Toddler House, children are treated with respect and dignity, with a strong emphasis on developing independence, language, motor coordination, self-care skills, and a sense of belonging. Learning occurs through purposeful movement, repetition, hands-on exploration, and responsive adult guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of the Montessori Toddler curriculum under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
Assist in maintaining a prepared environment that is orderly, beautiful, safe, and designed to foster independence and concentration.
Support daily care routines, including toileting, diapering, handwashing, snack, rest, and dressing for outdoor play.
Observe children and share insights with the Lead Teacher to support individualized care and instruction.
Foster emotional safety, secure attachments, respectful communication, and emerging social skills.
Support language development through modeling clear, rich, and respectful communication.
Work collaboratively with the teaching team during instruction, transitions, outdoor time, and routines.
Supervise students during outdoor play, arrivals, dismissals, hallway transitions, and field studies.
Assist with new parent and student visits and classroom orientations as appropriate.
Participate in professional growth through observations in other environments, level meetings, and professional development.
Utilize school resources and collaborate with colleagues and the Learning Services team to support student needs.
Assist with school-wide duties as needed, including Passport, playground, lunch, arrivals, and dismissals coverage.
Follow expectations outlined in the Classroom and Employee Handbooks.
Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:
A deep appreciation for early childhood development and toddler independence
Experience working with children ages 15 months–3 years preferred
Montessori experience or training preferred (or a willingness to learn)
Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice for toddlers
Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and a commitment to inclusive practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills
An openness to feedback and professional growth
The ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Salary and Benefits:
Inly School offers competitive pay and benefits. The salary range for this position is $38,000 to $42,000, commensurate with experience.
